Austria Cinema Platform

    • The VOD Club Austria is a joint digital exploitation initiative of Austrian cinemas, producers and filmmakers. NOUS conceived and realised the Cinema Platform Austria together with the client. Instead of a platform, users can view a programme curated by the participating programme cinemas on each individual website and rent the films there; access to the complete catalogue is also possible. Thus, 30 VOD platforms are launched simultaneously throughout Austria with currently 120 Austrian cinema films. The aim of the project is to open up a completely new dimension that will also reach new customers. The Django/Python-based responsive streaming webpage with integrated shop and payment system enables customers - unbound by time and place - to stream Austrian films with an adaptive bitrate up to 1080p in full HD on any device without plug-ins. The optimised 2-step checkout process makes online payment particularly secure and easy for users. The focus was on enabling excellent picture and sound quality; digital rights management, which protects against piracy of the film, is also integrated. Furthermore, a specific analysis tool was developed for the participating cinemas.
